The unit consists of social workers who work with children and youth as well as adult/support services. The unit is led by two unit managers who are also the first social workers for their respective areas. Our offices are located in Vårgårda municipal building.

We are now looking for someone who wants to continue the good social work being done in Vårgårda Municipality and contribute to the future of social services based on the new social services act together with us and those we serve!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a social worker for children and youth, you and your colleagues conduct investigations and follow up on approved interventions. In this position, it also involves working in our joint reception part of the service. Your work is based on current legislation, guidelines, and knowledge support. The work is conducted based on Signs of Safety, focusing on resources, strengths, and risks present in families and networks. Your work is very significant as you engage in dialogue with children, youth, families, and networks to find the best solution for each child.

Your future colleagues have experience in the profession and are open and unpretentious, creating a workplace characterized by both high competence and a good, warm atmosphere. It is important for us to help each other, support one another, and maintain good work for the children, youth, and families we encounter.

An important part of the work is collaboration with colleagues within the unit as well as with external actors such as schools and healthcare. You will have continuous and close support from both the manager/first social worker and colleagues. You will regularly participate in method meetings and external supervision. Everyone who starts in the unit receives an individual introduction plan and internal training in Signs of Safety. Based on your experience and interests, you are expected to be active in our ongoing development work and continue the work with Signs of Safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

To thrive in the role of social worker, it is important that you work in a structured and responsible manner by planning and prioritizing your work effectively based on set goals, structures, and timelines. At the same time, you have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and switch between different tasks. Since the work involves many points of contact both within and outside the unit, it is important that you are good at and enjoy collaborating and cooperating with others. A good client approach and a helpful and supportive attitude towards your colleagues are seen as a given. The tasks can sometimes be demanding and the pace high, which requires you to be calm, stable, and controlled in both pressured and stressful situations. We continuously strive for a reasonable workload and very rarely experience threatening or violent situations.

You should have:

• Degree in Social Work
• Understanding and good knowledge of the legislation in relevant areas
• Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish both orally and in writing
• Current professional experience as a social worker with authority in child and youth matters or in the service provision aspect of social services focused on children and youth
• Training and experience in Signs of Safety
